2020 has been a challenging year with COVID-19 causing travel issues that have affected the diving industry throughout the world, but something positive did come out of it – Scuba.Digital.
We decided to put on Scuba.Digital in March, just when the COVID-19 issue kicked off here in the UK, as we recognised that it would be impossible for divers and exhibitors to meet in physical places due to travel restrictions and finances, and we wanted to do something about that. Scuba.Digital took place in October with low numbers of visitors but with great support from GUE and DAN Europe. Those that did attend had a great time! We put on Scuba.Digital 2020 for free to support the industry as a whole but we have also learned a lot – thank you.
We hope and believe that the COVID-19 situation will get much better in 2021. With a number of vaccines being rolled out and the potential travel that comes with it, we hope that the scuba diving industry will slowly recover. It will be a long road and finances for sales and marketing budgets will be very tight. This means that physical dive shows with exhibitors traveling from around the world is unlikely to happen, hence we are planning Scuba.Digital 2021!
Update: We have postponed Scuba.Digital 2021 to April 2022!
Below are the dates for your diary:
- Scuba.Digital Trade Day (21st – 22nd Oct 2021) – For exhibitors and scuba trade only visitors from around the world
